Recycled Rocks: Reinventing the Old

Jewelry comes with a story attached. Whether it's a grandmother's earrings or a class ring, each piece you own has its own value. So what's to be done with pieces you don't reach for any more? A sure way to make my heart sing is to bring me old pieces of jewelry ready to be reinvented into fresh, ready-to-wear works of art.

When my client came to me with her old wedding set, she and I discussed her desire for a new set of rings that featured a more modern engagement ring and two tiara bands that would flank the principle ring. 

I worked on a CAD design for my client to show her how her new pieces would be brought to life using her old stones. This CAD laid out all the details so that my client could visualize what her transformed pieces would look like.  

The end result was my client's original stone set in a diamond-wreathed hexagonal bezel. Dual tiara wedding bands were then created to sit perfectly above and below her gorgeous engagement ring. Each ring features a delicate hammered texture, and while one tiara ring showcases white round bezel-set diamonds set in white gold, the other features rose gold and is studded with sunset-toned sapphires.
