Gratitude
Ashley Morgan
During these rather tumultuous times, I turn to gratitude as a way to reaffirm my inner tranquility. During these reflections, I find that my mind immediately goes to the gorgeous custom work I've been able to be a part of: each bejeweled piece is the result of a single person's story lovingly passing through many diligent hands. As a whole, the team I work with is a community of people who are dedicated to the ideals that I hold near and dear: creating works of art that shine brightly while holding deeper value and meaning. A ring isn't simply a ring, it's an heirloom piece in the making, rich with qualities that make it ever more special.
This incredible piece is the result of a private meeting with my client. She brought to me a diamond that had been gifted to her grandmother by her great-grandfather. Though this diamond had been worn by women in her family for generations, it was known in her family that the stone seemed to carry with it bad luck as an engagement stone. Together, my client and I designed a piece to give this stone new energy and new life. Set in a compass rose four-pointed setting, this diamond now represents the north star, and my client being pointed in new and better directions. Half of the chain is studded with diamonds that represent the lineage of her family: all the women who have come before, and those who will come after are represented in a sparkling line of bezel-set diamonds. The other half of the chain is thicker: an anchoring presence that symbolizes inner strength.
When given the finished piece, my client was absolutely delighted. She and I both felt that the diamond had been reborn, and was ready to be worn in the spirit in which the necklace was created: one of joy, pure intention, family love, and hope.
